Pharmacology is the study of the therapeutic value and potential toxicity of chemical agents on biological systems. It targets every aspect of the mechanisms for the chemical actions of both traditional and novel therapeutic agents. Pharmacology is located within the medical school at the north end of the University of Nevada, Reno campus which is on the foothills of the eastern Sierra.

Department of Pharmacology faculty participate in several interdisciplinary graduate programs including the Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology Graduate Program, Cell and Molecular Biology Program and Biomedical Engineering Program
