Step 2 — Secondary applications

This information is unique to the University of Nevada School of Medicine and gives our admissions committee more specific information on applicants. The secondary application is mailed to all students who filed an AMCAS application after residency status has been reviewed and comes with a fee of $45. All secondary applications are due within five business days of receipt (no exceptions). Please note: failure to return the secondary application within five business days will result in your application being considered INCOMPLETE and will not be reviewed by the Admissions Committee.

Step 3 — Interviews

The University of Nevada School of Medicine uses structured Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) for the admissions interview process. Each applicant selected for interview will receive information about the MMI schedule. Interviews take place September through January.

Step 4 — In-state applicants

Proof of residency must be submitted. Applicants will be provided with the paperwork and submission requirements as part of the secondary application packet.

Step 5 — Admissions committee review

The applicant's part is now complete. Admissions Committee members begin the thorough review of each applicant in preparation for a series of four meetings, January through April.

Step 6 — Admissions notification

Each applicant will receive written notification of the decision by the Admissions Committee. All notifications are sent out approximately the 15th of each month, January through April. No news is good news! The committee can't review each applicant at each meeting, so there is a rolling admissions process through those four months.
